Slots by number of Coins

On a standard slot machine you can bet 3 coins max per spin. Many variations exist today. Traditionally, 2 coin slots are available for low rollers. At the high end of the "coin spectrum", you can play up to a maximum of 45 coins per spin (the highest we've found among the online slots we've reviewed). We expect the maximum number of coins per spin to continue to rise in the future, because casinos keep increasing the number of reels and paylines on their slot machines, in order to make them more attractive to players.

Generally speaking it is advised to always bet max coins on a slot machine, because the odds are better when betting max coins (exceptions may exist). A casino wants as much action from a slot machine as possible, and they stimulate this by offering better odds on a max coins bet. For example, the jackpot might be proportionally higher when betting max coins. On a progressive slot you are almost always *only* eligible for the progressive jackpot when playing max coins. On a bonus feature slot you might only get a bonus round with a max coin bet.

If you don't feel comfortable playing max coins you can always pick a slot that offers a lower denomination per coin bet. This enables you to bet a more conservative amount per spin, without sacrificing the benefits of the max coin paytable.
