Roulette Royale (Microgaming)
Review of Roulette Royale (Microgaming)Microgaming's Roulette Royale was the first progressive Roulette available on the Internet. The progressive jackpot is linked to all participating Microgaming casinos. The jackpot grows with each bet placed on Roulette Royale in all participating casinos. The highest jackpot hit to date was $313,779.43 (checked on August 8, 2004). The jackpot's reset value is $60,000. Apart from the progressive jackpot, Roulette Royale is played conform standard European roulette (but without the "en prison" rule). The roulette wheel doesn't have the double zero found in American roulette, and the house edge on all bets (except the progressive side bet) is 2.70%. More information on European roulette is available here. If you want to qualify for the progressive jackpot you have to make a $1 side bet. You are eligible for a side bet payout as soon as the same number occurs at least two times in a row. If you receive the same number five times in a row, you'll win the progressive jackpot. The side bet payout schedule is listed below:
Winnings are cumulative, which means that *if* you win the progressive jackpot, you would per definition already have won $3,000 + $200 +$15 in side bet payouts on your previous three spins. Keep in mind you always have to place the progressive side bet to be eligible for a side bet payout. If you receive two equal consecutive numbers, but didn't place the side bet on your last spin, you won't get paid. According to Michael Shackleford the house edge on the side bet becomes zero once the progressive jackpot reaches $781,626.03. Casinos where you can play Roulette Royale (Microgaming)
